The Centre for Sustainable Energy is a national, independent energy charity based in Bristol. Through its Safe & Warm Grassroots Communities Scheme, it offers funding to small, grassroots organisations to provide energy saving advice and support to vulnerable households, helping them stay safe and warm.

Grants of £8,000 – £14,000 are available for projects to deliver: personalised energy advice; Carbon Monoxide safety awareness; support to join the Priority Services Register; other wellbeing and crisis support (including benefits checks, support with digital skills and support to access emergency funding schemes).

The scheme is funded by three gas distribution networks, including SGN. As a result, applicants in Scotland must be based within the SGN network area. Project delivery should take place between Tuesday 1 September 2026 – Monday 31 May 2027.

Please note, the fund is limited in the number of groups it can support, and is intended for capacity building and reaching new, underserved audiences. It is not designed to support already established energy advice provision.

The deadline for applications is 11am on Monday 10 August 2026.
