Offering grants of up to £15,000, the Rewilding Innovation Fund aims to remove barriers to rewilding across Scotland, England and Wales. Awarded by Rewilding Britain, the fund helps to foster the scale and ambition of rewilding projects, enabling large-scale restoration of ecosystems.
To apply, projects must be:
- Based in Britain (England, Wales and Scotland)
- Cover at least 40 hectares of contiguous land or have a marine rewilding project of any size
- Part of the Rewilding Network (you may join at the point of application)
- Rewilding (or about to) at scale – potentially as a group of landowners or project partners – and adhering to Rewilding Britain’s rewilding principles
Eligible projects can cover a wide range of activities, from community engagement and feasibility studies to technological innovations and strategic planning. With 86 rewilding projects funded so far, a full list of previous projects can be found via the Rewilding Innovation Fund Projects webpage. These showcase the diverse range of rewilding projects taking action across Britain, towards the goal of improving our climate, bringing nature back and providing economic futures for communities.
The deadline for applications is Saturday 5 September 2026.
