The University of St. Andrews is looking for participants (aged over 60 years old) to take part in a PhD (doctoral-level) research project about the direct and indirect consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The research aims to understand the factors responsible for different outcomes for older people as a result of the pandemic. During the study, the researchers will speak to participants over the phone about their wellbeing, using established questionnaires.
The researchers aim to further understanding of how the pandemic has impacted people over the age of 60 years old. This understanding can be used to improve health outcomes for people over age 60 and improve health and social care provided by the government, the NHS and public sector.
The University of St Andrews will provide full details about the study to anyone interested in taking part, including an information sheet which can be sent via post or email. After reading the information sheet, prospective participants can either choose to continue onto the study or not. Participants are also free to leave the study at any time.
Every participant who takes part in the study is entered into a prize draw to win one of 4 £50 vouchers (with a choice of Amazon or Marks and Spencer voucher).
The deadline for participating is Sunday 30th April.
To take part, or for further information, contact lead researcher Effie Assan by phone: 07778 619 030, or email: wellbeingstudy@st-andrews.ac.uk
