Funding is available for community-based opportunities for children and families to play outdoors in local green, blue, and grey spaces, using the Play Ranger model.

This fund supports registered Scottish Charities operating in SIMD 1 and 2 locations to deliver free, child-led outdoor play which improves children’s health and wellbeing. Charities can receive up to £20,000 per year, as well as capacity building support and opportunities to share and learn from other organisations across Scotland.

Inspiring Scotland is delivering this programme on behalf of Scottish Government; the fund runs alongside the Outdoor Community Play Incubator Programme.

The deadline for applications is Friday 10 October 2025.
