Funding is available from the Nineveh Charitable Trust for a broad range of projects and activities which promote a better understanding of the environment and countryside, whilst facilitating improved access, education and research.
Please note there is no funding limit, as the Trust is guided by its investment income and the quality of proposals received.
The Trust aims to support projects and activities for benefit to the General Public, as per their Objectives:
- the health, welfare and education of the general public
- the study and appreciation of agriculture, silviculture, ecology and land management
- the study and appreciation of land and estate management that encourages conservation of the countryside
The Trust prefers to pay grants to UK registered charities or Community Interest Companies (CICs).

There is no deadline, and applications can be submitted at any time. The Trustees meet once per quarter to review applications and allocate funding; proposals not received in time for a meeting will be rolled over for consideration at the next one.

How to Apply
Proposals for charitable funding can be in the form of a letter, but a Situation – Target – Proposal type of structure is helpful to explain your objective for the funding and the details of the proposal (especially if complex).
A brief summary will also be useful to the Trustees, along with background information (eg. in a covering letter), such as website and email addresses, annual accounts, photographs etc, to help give the Trustees an idea of your organisation’s aims and accomplishments.
Submitting a Funding Proposal
Funding proposals should address the Objectives of the Nineveh Charitable Trust listed above, and should be no longer than 2 double-sided pages, carefully worded, justifying the request in relation to the Trust’s Objectives.
To reduce the administrative burden, the Trustees request applicants please send 3 copies of their proposal with a stamped self-addressed envelope (along with 4 copies of a completed contact form) to:
