CVS Falkirk will be closed for the holidays from Friday 18th December 2020, and our team will return to work on Tuesday 5th January 2021. Our office continues to be closed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. We hope you enjoy the holidays, and have a wonderful, safe festive period.

Social Enterprise Scotland has launched Buy Social Scotland, a campaign to make it easy for consumers to find ethical gift options from social enterprises around Scotland. There are already over 100 gifts showcased, but they are keen to add more organisations from across Scotland – including Falkirk and the Forth Valley! It is free to be added to the site, without any conditions.

In addition to the Forth Valley Third Sector Conference, we’re working with CTSI and SVE, and Scottish Government, to hold an online engagement event on Charity Law. Taking place Wednesday 13th January 2021, 10:30am – 1:30pm, the event aims to restart engagement with the third sector to develop and refine the proposals consulted on in 2019 for changes to charity law.

The University of Lincoln is currently conducting a short survey for the Following Young Fathers Further (FYFF) study. As part of a process of stakeholder analysis, the research team is mapping and consulting with UK services and organisations, including the health, statutory, voluntary and third sectors. In particular, the team hopes to understand the level of interest and influence different services may have in relation to lives and support needs of young fathers and their families.

Evaluation Support Scotland is running its Let’s Evaluate! 2021 online training programme on Zoom, beginning in February. FREE places are available for any third sector group or organisation working in Falkirk, funded through Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership. Let’s Evaluate! is tailor-made for third sector organisations, with 3 workshops taking participants through the steps to simple and practical evaluation, to benefit you and help you report to funders.
