Falkirk Council has set up a free online ordering service to allow anyone who needs period products to request them. People can request products that suit their needs best from a range of items, which will be delivered by the supplier straight to the individual. This aims to reduce the risk of people being unable to attend work or education due to lack of access to period products.

FREE “Reimagined Scottish Folklore” Live Event
Historic Scotland and Historic Environment Scotland are holding “Reimagined Scottish Folklore”, a free online event on Saturday 20th March, 11:30am – 12:30pm. Part of their World Storytelling Day celebrations and hosted by award winning Scottish-Kenyan storyteller Mara Menzies (who will also tell her own story), the event will feature reimagined Scottish folktales, stories and myths, a 21st Century look at some of Scotland’s oldest stories with guests Kirsty Logan, Niall Moorjani, and Sunnah Khan.
Young Carer Grant Information and Resources
The Young Carer Grant is a yearly payment of £305.10 for young carers aged 16 – 18 years old who live in Scotland. It’s a cash benefit to spend as they choose and they can apply if they are at school, in further education, employed or unemployed. It is up to them what they choose…
Community Conversations: Extra Upper Braes Session!
Falkirk Council has announced an extra Community Conversations session for the Upper Braes (Ward 9) area THIS THURSDAY 18th March, 6pm – 7:30pm. The session will be held online via Teams, and will look at and further discuss some of the useful points raised during last Thursday’s conversation.
New PVG Application Service
Volunteer Scotland Disclosure Services, and Disclosure Scotland, last week launched the new online PVG Application Service, on Monday 1st March. The new service allows groups and organisations to complete the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) applications for their volunteers online, and is an 8 step process aiming to be as simple as possible.
