The grants aim to support organisations working locally or regionally to reduce mobility barriers for disabled individuals, particularly those experiencing financial hardship or limited service provision. The funding seeks to enhance independence, dignity, and quality of life by enabling better access to equipment, services, and community support, through practical, inclusive solutions which enhance independence and wellbeing.
Each grant stream addresses specific needs, such as strengthening local provision, supporting innovation, and building organisational capacity.
Eligible costs include manual and powered wheelchairs, walking aids, assessments, maintenance, staff and volunteer expenses, and core overheads. Projects may involve service expansion, pilot schemes, or awareness-raising activities, with a clear focus on delivering measurable benefits to disabled individuals.
While eligibility criteria vary, all funds share a commitment to equity, inclusion, and practical impact. Applications are welcomed from incorporated charities, social enterprises (including Community Interest Companies (CICs)), and community groups with experience in disability support, along with exempt charities with at least 3 years of operational history. Organisations must meet financial and governance criteria, including minimum income thresholds and robust safeguarding policies.
Deadlines for the funding opportunities range from December 2025 to March 2026, allowing flexibility for applicants to prepare robust submissions. Applications follow a single-stage process and require a log-frame outlining outcomes, outputs, and indicators. Successful applicants will receive decisions within five working days, followed by grant agreements and monitoring requirements.
