The Motability Foundation has opened a new funding round to support projects which enhance active travel options for disabled people across the UK. Grants of £50,000 to £1 million are available for projects lasting 12 months – 3 years, with a final application deadline of Monday 15 December 2025.
Active travel includes walking, cycling, push scooters, wheelchairs, and other mobility aids. Funding is available for equipment hire, service access, pilot schemes, staff costs, and awareness campaigns. Projects must support disabled people living in the UK, with priority given to those in deprived areas or underrepresented groups.
Applicants must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). Successful EOIs will then be invited to complete a full application. Organisations must meet governance and financial eligibility criteria, and provide key policies. Monitoring and evaluation are required, with external evaluations funded for grants over £750,000.
