Scottish Government has recently published its new Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy, which details a much longer-term approach to improve the mental health and wellbeing of people in Scotland.
Created using feedback from the public (including people with lived experience), representative groups and support organisations, the Strategy describes what a highly effective and well-functioning mental health system should look like, covering all levels of need, including the needs of people with sever and enduring mental health conditions, along with maintaining good mental wellbeing, and community support.
Following this publication, a soon-to-be developed Strategy Delivery Plan and Workforce Action Plan will detail the specific actions that the Government plans to take to deliver on the Strategy’s outcomes. These, along with the Strategy itself, will be reviewed, monitored and evaluated on a regular basis.
