Funding is available to support marine organisations in Scottish coastal communities, including the Grangemouth area.
The funding, which is made available through Scottish Government’s Marine Fund Scotland, will support a wide range of eligible individuals, businesses, organisations and communities to deliver projects which aim to create a sustainable marine economy, reduce carbon emissions and support coastal communities.
The Marine Fund Scotland for 2025-26 is focused on supporting projects that deliver outcomes relating to Scotland’s Blue Economy Vision (published in March 2022).
Last year, a total of 91 projects were awarded funding, with grants ranging from £1,000 – £1.6 million. These projects included:
- harbour improvements such as community clean ups and marine litter prevention
- improvements to safety training and on-board safety for sea fishers
- modernising of seafood processing facilities to reduce energy consumption and improve efficiency
The closing date for applications is 11:59pm on Tuesday 22nd July 2025. Any applications received after this will be held for any potential future rounds (however, Scottish Government cannot guarantee a second round will be held).
