LGBT Youth Scotland (LGBTYS) has released information on their latest programmes for LGBTQ+ young people:
- Lavender Lives Part 2
Following the first Lavender Lives joint exhibition in February 2023, Creative Stirling has secured funding to work with LGBTYS and begin Part 2 of the creative project.
With Lavender Lives Part 2, Creative Stirling and LGBTYS aim to provide a range of fun creative learning activities, with opportunities to be involved with the development of a potential Forth Valley Pride 2024.
The project has been developed from ideas, passions and interests highlighted by young people during the first Lavender Lives project. Lavender Lives aims to raise awareness of people’s experiences as LGBTQIA+ young people and influence more equality, diversity, inclusion and safety in the Forth Valley area.
Lavender Lives Part 2 is open to young people aged 13 – 25 who identify as LGBTQIA+ and live in Forth Valley.

- (Un)seen (Un)heard Project
(Un)Seen, (Un)Heard is a social history project that aims to capture LGBTQ+ young people’s experience, through all forms of art, writing, audio, film and more.
LGBTYS is looking to hear from young people aged 13 – 25 years old, or people who have experience growing up in Scotland, in order to celebrate their stories about work, family, health, education and community through a digital exhibition for LGBT History Month 2024. LGBTYS will then work with the National Library of Scotland to create a permanent collection of young people’s voices within the National Archives.
(Un)seen, (Un)heard aims to put young LGBTQ+ people at the heart of Scotland’s heritage, by will be an accessible, engaging, and enduring resource for Scotland.
