The SUEZ Communities Fund supports community and environmental improvement projects through the Landfill Communities Fund and Scottish Landfill Communities Fund, distributing funds contributed by SUEZ recycling and recovery UK.
The Fund offers awards of up to £50,000 to not-for-profit organisations for projects that are eligible under the rules of the Landfill Communities Fund and Scottish Landfill Communities Fund – projects that improve communities and the environment, such as those that improve public amenities, repair religious or historic buildings, or support biodiversity in areas surrounding Suez landfill sites. Whether improving a local play area or a nationally significant historic building, each project has the potential to transform the community in which it is based.
The maximum grant amount is £50,000 for projects in England and £25,000 in Scotland.
Eligible projects are those that focus on long-lasting physical improvements at a specified site or amenity are considered for funding. This is typically awarded for the purchase of materials, equipment and the appointment of a contractor to undertake improvement work. The Fund does not fund staff posts, organisational running costs, training or events. To be eligible for a SUEZ Communities Fund award in Scotland, your project site must be in Scotland. If you are applying for Public Amenity, Biodiversity or Historic Building funding, you will need to establish if your project is in the vicinity of a landfill site or transfer station.
The application deadline is 7 August 2024 for Scotland.
