Voices Less Heard, a new initiative led by Generations Working Together, has received generous support from National Lottery Awards for All Scotland to provide 40 fully funded delegate places for community practitioners and volunteers from across Scotland to attend the Global Intergenerational Congress 2026, taking place in Glasgow from 29 September – 1 October 2026. The programme includes keynote speakers, interactive workshops, and real-life case studies prompting attendees to work collaboratively to generate practical solutions, share insight, and build connections that extend beyond the Congress itself.
Delegates will receive a fully funded delegate place at the Congress; £100 towards travel/accommodation support (for those traveling more than 30 miles from Glasgow); and access to the Whova app for networking, interest groups and long term connections. As an added bonus, successful applicants can also apply for one of 16 funded places on the Creating Intergenerational Communities (CIC) training programme: a two day course focused on intergenerational practice for trainers and practitioners (CPD accredited); evaluating intergenerational projects; and using the Intergenerational Quality Indicator Toolkit.
It’s all designed to build confidence, strengthen practice, and support people to take new ideas back into their own communities. If you’re passionate about bringing generations together, eager to build your skills, or ready to speak up for your community on a global platform, this is your moment. This initiative is about more than attending an event – it’s about making sure communities are represented, heard, and celebrated.
Guidance on how to apply for a fully funded third sector place can be found in the Voices Less Heard Information Sheet.
