Forth Valley Food Futures and Forth Environment Link (FEL) will host the “Gather Around Good Food” event on Wednesday 21st June, 10am – 3pm, at the Falkirk Campus of Forth Valley College.
Places are free, but limited; booking is essential, and lunch is included. Participants will have the opportunity to come together with others to connect over good food, and explore how Falkirk District can become a place known for equitable access to affordable, healthy food.
Scottish Government’s Good Food Nation Act will soon create a requirement for detailed local food plans, so this is a timely opportunity to contribute to discussions about how the district can come to be known as a place for good food that also:
- promotes healthy and sustainable food to the public
- tackles food poverty, diet-related ill health, and access to affordable healthy food
- builds community food knowledge, skills, resources and projects
- promotes a vibrant and diverse sustainable food economy
- transforms catering and food procurement
- reduces waste and the ecological footprint of the food system
