FREE training is available to emergency response volunteers through the Lifelines Scotland project, and funded by Scottish Government.
The Lifelines Scotland project is a national NHS project, hosted by the Rivers Centre in NHS Lothian, working with government, statutory, third sector, voluntary, and charitable partners to support the wellbeing of the emergency service staff and volunteers in Scotland.
The Rivers Centre has over 20 years of experience of working with emergency service staff. Lifelines staff are currently delivering free learning sessions, designed specifically for emergency service staff and volunteers, which focus on self-care and resilience, supporting colleagues, and post trauma support.
The sessions are suitable for all emergency response volunteers, irrespective of time in the team. Lifelines Scotland believes that this learning should become part of the core knowledge and skills for all emergency response volunteers, and provides certificates of attendance following completion of each session.
Training is currently available throughout January – March, with dates and times designed as a mix of week and weekend (with the weekday training set for evenings). However, if this is unsuitable for your volunteers, Lifelines Scotland is also happy to run sessions during the working day.
For further information, including all training dates and times, and how to book your place, please visit the Lifelines Scotland website.
