Falkirk Council has announced its intention to revoke the Falkirk Town Centre Air Quality Management Area (AQMA) for particulate matter (PM10) only, in exercise of powers conferred upon it by Section 83(1) of the Environment Act 1995.
It is proposed that the AQMA is revoked in relation to continued compliance (over 7 years) of the PM10 National Air Quality Strategy objectives as set out in the Air Quality (Scotland) Regulations 2000, the Air Quality (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2002 and the Air Quality (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2016.
The deadline for responses is Friday 23rd December. A full public consultation is planned to follow.
