Falkirk Council’s Community Benefit Requests process provides an opportunity for local community groups, charities and third sector organisations to access practical support from contractors linked to council‑awarded contracts.
The Community Benefit Request process will open to applications at 12:30pm on Monday 15 June 2026.
Community benefits are contributions offered by contractors working on council projects, designed to deliver positive social, environmental and employability outcomes for local communities. These benefits form part of the council’s commitment to Community Wealth Building and aim to ensure that local people and organisations gain additional value from public spending.
Through this process, eligible organisations can request support of up to £500. This may include financial contributions, materials, specialist services or volunteer time. Requests are collated and shared with contractors, who may choose to support projects aligned with their work and community priorities.
The programme is open to community groups, charities and third sector organisations operating within the Falkirk District area with an annual income of up to £250,000. Each organisation can submit one request per financial year, and applications are reviewed to ensure they meet eligibility criteria.
While support cannot be guaranteed, the process aims to connect local needs with available resources and encourage wider community benefit from council contracts, and all approved requests are shared with contractors for consideration.
