CyberScotland Week aims to bring people and sectors together to share knowledge, strengthen resilience and celebrate innovation in cyber security. Taking place next week, 23–28 February, the 2026 theme is ‘Can’t Hack It?’, highlighting how everyone in Scotland can take simple, practical steps to stay safer online – with the main message “Online security starts with you”. From individuals and families to small businesses and large organisations, the message is clear: improving cyber resilience does not have to be complicated, but it does require awareness and action.
As part of CyberScotland Week, many organisations are hosting events and webinars to to raise awareness of cyber security and strengthen our collective, everyday cyber resilience – a full programme of which can be found on the CyberScotland Week website (linked for your convenience). As part of this, join SCVO online on Tuesday 24 February 2026, 1–1:30pm, to discuss how HR can be developed to help ensure staff/volunteers are aware of their cyber responsibilities and ultimately support organisations in staying safe online, in their session ‘From policy to practice: HR’s role in preventing common cyber threats’:
“Almost one in three UK charities experienced some form of cyber security breach or attack in the past year. As organisations increasingly depend on digital tools and services, the threat is not just likely – it’s inevitable. Everyone has a role to play. For those with HR responsibilities, you can help protect your organisation from common threats by embedding cyber principles in to your HR policies and processes. Join this short lunch and learn session to chat with experts about the work SCVO are doing in this space and the simple steps you can take today. “
