Creative Lives is developing a new Volunteering in the Arts toolkit, with tips and ideas to help groups ensure volunteers feel welcomed, informed, supported and appreciated.
Founded in 1991, Creative Lives aims to champion community and volunteer-led creative activity, and work to improve opportunities for everyone to be creative. The most recent research from the team, the Creative Lives Monitor 2025, shows that many local groups are struggling to convert creative participants into committed volunteers.
As part of the new toolkit, Creative Lives is keen to include innovative ideas and examples from creative groups on how they look after their volunteers, and is running a new micro-grant competition for submissions. Stories will be shared in the final online guide, with the winning entry receiving a £250 micro-grant (or €290 in Ireland).
The deadline for submissions is Tuesday 30 September 2025.
Examples and photos (where possible) should be submitted by email: info@creative-lives.org
