Following meetings held with the community across the last year, we are pleased to publish our guidance document collating the various Community Protection Resources available to support groups and organisations to keep themselves and their community spaces safe and secure, alongside those supporting community recovery and cohesion.
Initially, meetings were arranged by CVS Falkirk & District in response to the escalation of Far Right terrorism, violence, and threats occurring mainly across England and Northern
Ireland (NI) throughout late July – early August 2024. Concerned about the rippling effects these events may have on feelings of safety and security within Falkirk’s communities, we invited representatives from Falkirk’s Muslim population and third sector groups working with ethnic minority populations to a meeting where we discussed what their safety concerns may be, and what support we at CVS Falkirk & District could provide to them – including information sharing and signposting.
We believe that having these resources collated and to hand is always valuable to our community groups and organisations as they work to develop their own spaces and projects, but also in ensuring our communities have the best information to hand to keep ourselves and each other safe.
