Heritage and communities have historically been entwined in narratives of change and adaptation – whether that be environmental, economic or societal. Today, changing climate, flood susceptibility, built development, economic change, recreation and covid-19 are putting new pressures on people and place.
Climate FORTH is a project by the Inner Forth Futures Partnership that will engage four pilot communities to develop their understanding of locally important heritage assets. It will then help those communities to shape and produce Local Resilience Plans, after which they will deliver aspects to better protect and enhance those assets with participatory budgets.
About the workshops:
Bainsford and Langlees is one of our four target areas, and Climate FORTH will be hosting three workshops in the coming months so that the community can be involved in co-designing their local resilience plan. Funding is available to turn these plans into action for the local community!
Food and hot drinks will be provided at each session, and individuals do not need to have attended previous workshops to get involved.
Event information:
All workshops will be held at Bainsford Community Hall, 6-8pm, on:
- 27th March: Our Heritage and Future.
- 17th April: Climate Change and What is at Risk.
- 24th April: Actions for a Fair and Resilient Future
