Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES) supports community and faith organisations to install solar PV and battery storage in their buildings. This is a short-term pilot, funded by Scottish Government and Great British Energy; funds need to be spent and claimed by Tuesday 31 March 2026.
The maximum award is £80,000, and up to 80% of eligible costs can be funded.
Funding is open on a first come, first served basis until the end of March 2026, or until fully allocated.
