Thanks to a Scottish Government grant, Career Ready Forth Valley has a small allocation of funded internships (Summer 2022) specifically for small-medium enterprises (SMEs) and third sector organisations to get involved in their programme.

Career Ready is a UK-wide social mobility charity which aims to help raise the aspirations of school students in S5 and S6 with limited social capital and access to professional networks from the world of work. The Career Ready programme is an 18 month employer-led programme designed to give students real experience of the world of work, supporting them with:

a mentor from the world of work, meeting once per month for 1 – 1.5 hours
a 4 week, full-time, paid summer internship, in the workplace of their mentor

Alongside the Career Ready programme providing benefits for both employers and their employees, the programme can also help organisations actively contribute towards Scottish Government’s Young Persons Guarantee, Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) and fair work policies and pledges, as part of the employability and skills agenda.

As a result of the Scottish Government grant, there is no cost for third sector organisations and SMEs to get involved.

The next launch period is due to start in November; as a result, those interested in taking part are encouraged to get in touch quickly.
