Laura White, Senior Volunteering Manager at Sustrans, has released a thought-provoking and interesting blog which explores the language used in relation to volunteering, and how it can influence others and create the vision of volunteering we want to see in Scotland.
Writing for the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Laura says:
“Working in volunteer leadership, we have a responsibility to advocate for volunteering – we shape how it’s seen, talked about, and understood. What language we use for this is really important – it can influence others, and create the reality we want to see.”
