Community organisations which operate community spaces (such as youth clubs, amateur sports clubs, village halls, and Scouting, Guiding and Cadet groups) can apply for grants up to £20,000 through the Asda Foundation’s Local Community Spaces Fund.
Grants of £10,000 – £20,000 are available to grassroots groups, delivering projects which meet at least one of the following objectives:
- carrying out essential repairs to enable the space to continue to function
- renovating an existing space to accommodate more users or activities
- create a new community space where groups can meet and undertake activities
- improve accessibility to, or within, a community building
A total of £1.25 million is available in 2025 to support around 70 projects focused on repairing, renovating or creating spaces that encourage community connection and tackle social isolation. Projects must already have a usable space and demonstrate local need; funding can cover up to 90% of costs, provided it contributes at least 50% of the total budget.
Eligible applicants must be UK-based not for profit organisations, with an annual income under £250,000.
Applications close at 10am on Wednesday 28 May 2025, or sooner if oversubscribed.
