The Alpkit Foundation offers grants of up to £500 to individuals, community groups, schools, and not-for-profit organisations across the UK to promote outdoor engagement. Funding supports projects that enhance diversity and inclusion, environmental conservation, health and wellbeing, education (eg. First Aid, Duke of Edinburgh, Forest Schools), and general participation in outdoor activities.
Priority is given to initiatives which encourage responsible outdoor behaviour, have lasting impact, introduce new participants to nature, and demonstrate value for money. Examples include:
- subsidised equipment for outdoor trips which would otherwise be inaccessible
- community gardens and allotments
- grants to help re-wild woodland and protect our wild places
Grants are intended to supplement, not fully fund, projects. Applications are accepted year-round and reviewed bi-monthly. Applicants may reapply multiple times, but should submit proposals at least 3 months before the project start date; multiple award applications over time are welcomed, and each application is assessed on its own merit.
