Victim Support Scotland’s (VSS) National Reference Group is made up of people who have directly been affected by crime (as victims, witnesses or their families), who volunteer to share their feedback, views, and lived experiences on various aspects of the criminal justice system, processes and victim support.
People can get involved regardless of if they have accessed VSS services directly or not, and regardless of if they have reported the crime they experienced, or not, or if the case has gone through the police or court system.
While there are different ways to get involved with the group, many members speak directly with VSS’ Service User Engagement Officer, and members are unlikely to ever meet or know each other’s information, for confidentiality purposes.
The group is also completely optional, and people can decide at any point if they no longer wish to take part.
For further information on this opportunity, including how to get involved, please view or download the group leaflet as a pdf.
