The Commonwealth Games 2026, taking place in Glasgow, has lowered the minimum age of its volunteers to 16 years old.
Applications for volunteers are now open, with roles including those in Accommodation and Team Services, Media Operations, Spectator Services, Sport itself, and ceremonies (including the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, and medal presentations).
Over 3,000 volunteers are needed to support the Games during its 11 days, across several function areas; volunteers can select up to 3 in their application.
Glasgow 2026 will feature 10 sports and 6 para sports across 4 venues, taking place Friday 23 July 2026 – Sunday 2 August 2026. The volunteer selection process will run November 2025 – January 2026, with offers sent February – March 2026, and training taking place throughout April, May and June 2026.
UK nationals will need valid documentation to confirm their eligibility to volunteer, in line with UK immigration laws.
The deadline for applications will be announced in due course.
