Falkirk Council are looking for a volunteer to become the first Chair of the Greener Grangemouth Town Team.
This new voluntary role aims to bring people together to support community action. The Chair will lead a diverse group of stakeholders in driving sustainable regeneration initiatives as part of the Greener Grangemouth Programme, and play a key role in facilitating discussions, ensuring alignment with programme goals, and representing the team in strategic engagements. This one-year opportunity provides a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of the Grangemouth community with access to interesting and impactful work.
Responsibilities of the Chair
- Provide leadership and direction to the Town Team, ensuring effective collaboration and decision-making.
- Chair regular meetings, ensuring all voices are heard and discussions remain productive.
- Act as an advocate and spokesperson for the Town Team, promoting the group’s work locally and nationally.
- Engage with stakeholders to build trust, partnerships, and momentum for projects.
- Maintain an impartial and fair approach to balancing the interests of different stakeholders.
The successful person will have the chance to develop leadership and project management skills, gain deeper insight into community planning processes, and expand networks while making a real difference to the lives of local people living and working in the area.
This is a voluntary, unpaid role. While there is no salary associated with the position, all reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out duties related to the role will be reimbursed.
