The deadline is approaching to apply to become a volunteer Board member for Victim Support Scotland (VSS), with applications closing at 11:59pm on Monday 31st May.
New Board members will join as the organisation embarks on its new 5 year strategy, ”Empowering People Affected by Crime: VSS Strategic Plan 2021 – 2026”, and help work towards their vision of ensuring that all people affected by crime – victims, witnesses and families – are treated with dignity and respect, and are at the heart of justice in Scotland.
In return, Board members will have the opportunity to increase their knowledge of the justice system in Scotland, and work with the VSS team to think innovatively about their future direction.
In particular, they are keen to hear from individuals with:
- knowledge and understanding of the criminal justice system
- knowledge and understanding of Scottish charities
- accountancy qualification or experience
They are also encouraging applications from diverse gender identities, BAME communities, and LGBTQIA+ people, as well as people with diverse physical neurodiversity.
Interviews will be held on Wednesday 23rd June and Wednesday 30th June.
