The deadline for Voluntary Health Scotland’s (VHS) survey exploring the barriers and enablers to accessing the COVID-19 vaccine is Friday 19th February.
The survey is available online, focusing on how to ensure equitable access to vaccine, and should take around 10 minutes to complete.
VHS would like to identify who people, groups and organisations think the vulnerable demographics are who (for a range of reasons) may not access the vaccine, even if they are offered it.
It is important that there is maximum uptake of the COVID-19 vaccine; this requires equitable delivery and an understanding of the unintended barriers and inequalities faced by the population, especially the most vulnerable demographics.
They would like to identify what those barriers to accessing the vaccine are, as well as what can act as an enabler to increase vaccine uptake. They are also keen to hear what organisations think about the public facing communication so far regarding the vaccination programme, and how this could be improved.
They are especially interested in hearing about the role of the voluntary, third and community sector is already playing in supporting the vaccination programme, what more can be done and what resources (financial or otherwise) are required.
All information that gathered will be fed into the Public Health Scotland Evaluation of the Flu Vaccination COVID Vaccination (FVCV) programme, and the Scottish Government COVID-19 Vaccination Programme.
