Tatties Tae Tables is a new volunteer initiative which receives donations of bulk potatoes (and potentially other vegetables) from local Scottish producers, sorting, bagging and then delivering them free of charge to charitable food providers.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, there is a surplus of produce currently in storage across the country. Tatties Tae Tables aims to connect this supply of excess produce with the need for food.
They are crowdfunding through GoFundMe, and will use donations to prepare and transport pledged farm produce to third sector groups and organisations working to alleviate the impact of poverty.
They are also reaching out to third sector groups across the country to provide them with donations of potatoes (in 1 or 2 tonne palleted deliveries).
To arrange a delivery, or for further information, please visit the Tatties Tae Tables Facebook page, or contact Colin Harris by phone: 07825 233 735.
Alternatively, to donate, visit their GoFundMe page.
