As part of their Challenge Poverty Week 2018 activities, NSPCC Scotland and the Centre for Child Wellbeing and Protection are holding a half-day conference, “Taking Action on Child Poverty”, on Monday 10th December, 9am – 1:30pm at the Iris Murdoch Building in the University of Stirling, Stirling, FK9 4LA.
The conference will consider challenges families living in poverty face, its impact, and some of the work being done to support children, families and practitioners in Scotland and across the UK.
One in 4 children in Scotland now live in poverty, with families being under increasing strain; there has been a reported increase in rates of families living in poverty in Scotland.
The event is aimed at academics, students and practitioners who work with families in conditions of stress, and who have an interest in poverty alleviation.
