Social Enterprise Scotland has released a statement on Scottish Government’s 2026 – 2031 Programme for Government (PfG).
The PfG outlines what ministers want to achieve before the next Scottish Parliament election in 2031, and will be updated each spring. Specific focuses include eradicating child poverty, investing in young people and their families, tackling the climate crisis, stronger public services, and making Scotland the best place to do business. This includes a commitment to a new Social Economy Strategy, enabling the future development of social enterprises and other forms of socially oriented business models, and recognising the strengths and needs of each local area. Social Enterprise Scotland welcomes this commitment, and reflects further on ways to develop regional growth.
