Keep Scotland Beautiful are delivering free Community Litter Workshops both online and in-person across Scotland, starting in November 2024.
The 90 minute workshops are for adults (18+) (attending as individuals and/or representatives of community groups/ businesses) who are beginning their journey to tackle litter and littering behaviour in their community. The workshops aim to provide participants with information and access to resources and support in tackling litter and littering behaviour.
By attending, participants will learn more about littering issues and plan the first steps to tackle litter in their community. At the workshops, participants will develop an understanding of: why litter is a problem; the wider impacts of poor environmental quality; and the basics of behaviour change theory.
Participants will also build knowledge to: develop an effective plan to tackle litter in the local area; monitor and report on the litter problem I the local area; and identify further information and support to tackle the litter emergency.
To attend, participants must book their space through Eventbrite; with the dates linked below:
The workshops are targeted to people living in different local authority areas, with this localised approach designed to encourage discussion and collaboration around local litter issues. However, they will also be holding a separate online workshop that will be open to participation from those across Scotland.
Funded by the Scottish Government, the workshops are being delivered by experienced facilitators from Keep Scotland Beautiful, as part of their actions for the National Litter and Flytipping Strategy’s (NLFS) Year 2 Action Plan.
