South East of Scotland Transport Partnership (SEStran) is consulting on its draft Equality Outcomes for 2021-25, as part of their requirements under the Equality Act 2010 and the Equality Act 2012 (Scotland) Specific Duties Regulations.
These draft outcomes were developed with input from the SEStran Equalities and Access to Healthcare Forum, EHRC workshops and desk-based research, and are a list of targets and results which SEStran believe will enable it to perform its equality duty better.
A requirement of publishing a set of Equality Outcomes is that organisations need to take steps to involve people who share a relevant protected characteristic, and any person who appears to represent the interest of those people. To this end, they are now looking to gather input from as many people as possible, via their online consultation.
These outcomes cover how SEStran intends to help make specific and identifiable improvements in the lives of those who are most disadvantaged, and to narrow or remove the biggest inequalities experienced by particular groups who have a protected characteristic.
The deadline for consultation responses is Tuesday 9th March.
To access the draft Equality Outcomes, and complete the online consultation, please visit the SEStran website.
