Catalysts for Change: A 10 Year Strategic Plan (2026 – 2036): “Lived experience and peer support driving mental health transformation in Scotland.”
Scottish Recovery Network’s (SRN) new 10 year strategic plan, Catalysts for Change, sets out their vision, role, and ambitions for reshaping Scotland’s mental health system over the next decade.
It outlines how, through collaboration, SRN plans to help build a recovery-focused mental health system powered by lived experience and strengthened by peer support, and sets out the organisation’s four strategic outcomes and vision for mental health in 2036.
- Strategic outcome 1: Lived experience and peer leaders who influence communities, organisations and system.
- Strategic outcome 2: An intentional peer support workforce that thrives across Scotland.
- Strategic outcome 3: Collaboration with lived experience and peer support drives innovation and builds momentum for recovery -focused change in mental health.
- Strategic outcome 4: A skilled and adaptive organisation that anticipates change.
“This represents a significant change in both thinking and practice. Achieving it will take ambition, persistence, and collective effort with lived experience leaders, allies, and system changemakers working together. While challenges are inevitable, they can be overcome to create a mental health system grounded in hope, connection, and recovery.”
The strategic plan is available to read in sections on the SRN website, or as a downloadable pdf. A flipbook version and summary booklet are also available (all linked for your convenience).
