Applications are now open for the Scottish Men’s Shed of the Year Awards.

Led by the Scottish Men’s Sheds Association (SMSA), the awards recognise and reward the contribution and impact Men’s Sheds make to society, telling the story to raise awareness of the benefits of Sheds to men, their family and friends, and the community as a whole.

There are five regional awards categories:

East Coast (North)
East Coast (South)
West Coast (North)
West Coast (South)
Highlands & Islands

Each region will award its own winner, with all five progressing as semi-finalists for the national title. From there, the SMSA board will select three finalists, who will go forward to a public vote to decide the overall winner. Please note that the awards are open to applications from SMSA members only.

The deadline for applications is 12pm on Tuesday 30 June 2026, when regional judging will begin. Winners will be announced at the SMSA Gathering, AGM and Awards in August.
