The Scottish Community Development Centre (SCDC) has been working with communities and organisations in Falkirk District and Moffat on the “Rebooting Resilience” project, to explore what helps communities to build resilience.
They are holding an in-person Shared Learning Day event on Wednesday 28th February, 10am – 3pm (refreshments available from 9:30am), at Falkirk Council Place Services office, 8 – 10 Inchyra Road, Grangemouth, FK3 9XB.
The event is aimed at those involved with community groups and community resilience and responses, who have been involved in the past, or who are new to community resilience and would like to know more. There will be practical exercises designed to help attendees think about what could be done in their area, the opportunity to hear about great examples of resilience work happening across both Falkirk and Moffat, as well as time to think about what is needed to help communities be strong when facing challenges relating to weather, unplanned events, and responses to other issues.
There will also be an opportunity to hear from colleagues from Dumfries and Galloway, who will speak about the Dumfries and Galloway Virtual Operations Support Team (DGVOST) system, which supports all partners involved in a resilience response to better understand their own roles, and share information with others involved in the response.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and network with colleagues from across Forth Valley and Dumfries and Galloway, and lunch will be provided.
