Ready for Youth Work is a practical course for youth workers and volunteers to ensure that they can: create a safe space for young people; plan, deliver and evaluate fun youth work sessions for young people; engage young people meaningfully; celebrate and recognise their achievements.
This is an e-learning course, for which participants will need a laptop or computer. Participants will have until Tuesday 17 June 2025 to complete the course.
After signing up you will be emailed a login to Youth Scotland’s e-learning platform. Participants will receive their login within 7 days of signing up, and can work through the 6 modules at times that are convenient to them.
The modules are:
- Introduction to Youth Work
- Introduction to Hi5 and Dynamic Youth Awards
- Child Protection Awareness
- Leading Games, Session Planning, and Creative Evaluation
- Introduction to Youth Participation
- Involving Young People in Decision Making
Accreditation is available at SCQF Level 3; the e-learning course will explain how to access this. The course is available to those living in Scotland only.
