People’s Postcode Trust offers support to smaller charities, community organisations, and good causes across Scotland that are working to create positive change for people and the environment. The Trust focuses on enabling local impact — especially within communities facing disadvantage — and provides flexible, unrestricted grants that allow organisations to respond to local priorities.
Funding is available for projects that fall under one or more of the Trust’s key themes: increasing participation in physical activity; widening engagement in the arts; tackling and reducing the impact of poverty; supporting marginalised groups and addressing inequality; improving biodiversity and responding to the climate emergency; enhancing green spaces and increasing outdoor access; and providing targeted support for specific mental health needs. The flexibility of the funding means it can be used for capital items, project costs, or essential core expenditure.
Grants range from £500 to £25,000.
Constituted groups which are not charities, can apply for up to £2,500, whilst registered charities, CICs with an asset lock, and community benefit societies may apply for the full £25,000. Applicants must have been operating for over a year and must submit signed accounts with their application. The Trust requires that the amount requested does not exceed one third of the organisation’s total annual income.
Priority is given to organisations with an annual income under £250,000; groups working in communities within the top 15% of the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation; and organisations led by (and supporting) people from marginalised backgrounds, including communities experiencing racial inequity, people living with disabilities, and the LGBT+ community.
Three funding rounds will run in 2026:
- Round 1: 9am Wednesday 25 March – 12noon Wednesday 1 April
- Round 2: 9am Wednesday 24 June – 12noon Wednesday 1 July
- Round 3: 9am Thursday 24 September – 12noon Thursday 1 October
Applications are currently closed, although organisations are encouraged to prepare in advance of the next funding window opening soon.
