The NSPCC have launched the Listen Up, Speak Up campaign across the UK, aimed at empowering everyone to know what to do if they are ever worried about a child or family. Listen up, Speak up will show you:
- some signs a child might be at risk, and steps you can take to help
- how to approach difficult conversations to help keep children safe
- who you can contact if you’re ever concerned about a child or their family.
They are are encouraging every adult in the UK to take their 10-minute digital training and learn how to listen up and speak up for children. With the ethos of ‘it takes a village to raise a child’, this training is for people who may not work with children or families in a formal capacity, but encounter them regularly – either through their work or personal lives.
The NSPCC are also offering Listen up, Speak up as a one-hour workshop, face-to-face or online. The workshops are completely free of charge, and suitable for staff, volunteers, and adults from the community who wish to boost their confidence and knowledge on how to keep children safe. If your organisation or group workplace would be interested in hosting a workshop, please email the NSPCC’s Local Campaigns Service, including your organisation’s name and location in your email.
