Make Your Mark is a campaign to increase the number and diversity of heritage volunteers in Scotland. For volunteers, Make Your Mark can connect you with organisations that care for Scotland’s places, history and culture – by volunteering, you can discover Scotland’s stories, care for local places, connect with likeminded people, learn new skills, network with staff and get behind-the-scenes access. For volunteer-involving heritage organisations, Make Your Mark promotes volunteering opportunities, connects heritage volunteer coordinators nationwide, shares inclusive volunteering practice and evidences volunteering impact to lobby for more funding for heritage volunteering programmes.
In doing the above, Make Your Mark administers a free volunteer advertising portal for heritage organisations seeking volunteers in Scotland. On Tuesday 20 May between 1pm-3pm, they are hosting a free online workshop to find out how to use and make the most of their system. There will also be opportunities to learn more about effective, accessible volunteer advertising, with discussions about how to make role descriptions inclusive and advertising top tips.
