LinkLiving are a trauma-informed Scottish health and wellbeing charity that supports people of all ages to overcome the negative impacts of trauma, mental health, inequality, and isolation. They offer a variety of learning opportunities to help individuals develop the skills, knowledge, and experience they need to succeed.
Hosted at their Link Academy venue, McKinven House, George Street, Falkirk, FK27EY, the below 8 week courses aim to support local young people to achieve their goals. Lunches are provided as part of the sessions, and bus travel vouchers are also available. To start the induction process onto these courses, a referral form must be returned to larecepetion@linkgroup.org.uk and the LinkLiving team will be in touch.
The LinkLiving project worker is happy to answer any questions or discuss individual referrals as required. They will carry out initial assessment meetings with all young people prior to the course starting to provide a full overview of the course, and assess the suitability of the course for their individual needs.
Creative Connection is an 8-week personal development programme for 16-24 year olds living in Falkirk, which combines a range of wellbeing workshops with practical creative activities. The aim of Creative Connections is to build the capacity of young people to: recognise, understand and manage the challenges they face; develop positive behaviours; identify and work towards their ambitions; and increase confidence and self-esteem.
The LinkLiving team are currently taking referrals for their next Creative Connections intake, starting on Monday 3 February. This course will then run every Monday and Tuesday, from 10am – 3pm, for the duration of the 8 week course.
Sporting Chance is an 8-week programme for young people aged 16-24 in Falkirk, delivered in partnership by LinkLiving and the Falkirk Foundation, and focusing on personal development through health and fitness.
Made up of a series of interactive mental health and well-being workshops, running alongside sporting activities, Sporting Chance aims to help participants to: recognise and manage challenges; boost confidence and self-esteem; develop tools to better manage their wellbeing; and improve mindset and physical fitness.
The LinkLiving team are currently taking referrals for their next Sporting Chance intake, which will start at Link Academy on Thursday 6 February 2025. This course will then run every Thursday and Friday, from 10am – 3pm, for the duration of the 8 week course.
Moving on Up is a programme for 16-19-year-olds living in Falkirk, which provides the opportunity for young people to learn new skills, build confidence, realise their goals for the future and meet new people.
Moving On Up runs five days a week and is a person-centred programme where young people have a voice and get to choose how their support works for them. Participants will have a dedicated project worker and will take part in group work as well as one-to-one support and SCQF qualifications.
