Another of our Falkirk Funders Fayre 2020 exhibitors, Scene Connect are community renewable energy specialists, working with Falkirk Council (as part of the Grangemouth Growth Deal) to identify the most suitable buildings, land, and community centres in Grangemouth to host solar panels and battery storage technology.
Community ownership is a central aim of the Green Grangemouth Solar Project, and Scene is looking to work with Grangemouth community groups, who would be able to buy-in to the scheme and benefit financially from the sale of solar energy.
Using this solar energy, Grangemouth sites will reduce their energy costs, cut their greenhouse gas emissions, and generate a source of income, selling any leftover solar energy to the grid.
Together with Grangemouth community members, Scene has developed a shortlist of 7 key sites for consideration:
- Grangemouth Athletics Stadium
- Grangemouth Library
- Grangemouth Sports Complex
- Falkirk Football Stadium
- Kinneil Kerse Recycling Centre
- Grangemouth Golf Club
- Grangemouth Ski Slope
