RWE is currently progressing proposals to develop a green hydrogen production facility in Grangemouth.
Their Grangemouth Green Hydrogen Project’s second consultation event takes place next Wednesday 26 March 2025, 3pm – 7pm, with a public exhibition at Grangemouth Community Education, Unit 69–71 Abbots Road, Grangemouth, FK3 8JB.
The consultation period opens on Monday 24 March, closing Monday 7 April. The exhibition offers members of the public an opportunity to view RWE’s plans and speak with their project team.
RWE hopes their proposed green hydrogen facility at Grangemouth demonstrates their commitment to advancing the hydrogen economy, and supporting Scotland’s decarbonisation goals. Using renewable energy, the electrolyser will produce hydrogen from water, supplying a nearby offtaker via pipeline to reduce emissions.
After considering community feedback from the first consultation period, RWE has refined their plans, and is now seeking further local input to shape the project.
