CVS Falkirk is pleased to offer the opportunity to attend a fully funded Mental Health First Aid in-person training programme, taking place on Tuesday 6th December and Tuesday 13th December.
This training is aimed at third sector leaders and active volunteers, and is designed to upskill individuals in providing help to someone experiencing a mental health problem before professional help is obtained.
The aims of the course are to:
- preserve life
- provide initial help
- prevent the problem getting worse
- promote recovery of good mental health
- provide comfort
Scotland’s Mental Health First Aid does NOT teach people to be therapists. Participants will learn:
- how to ask about suicide
- how to recognise the signs of mental health problems
- how to provide initial help
- how to guide a person to appropriate help
The sessions will take place in-person at Forth Valley Sensory Centre, Redbrae Rd, Camelon FK1 4DD. Spaces are limited and are being offered on a first come basis; participants will be expected to attend both days.
