Our colleagues at Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise (SVE) and Glasgow Council for the Voluntary Sector (GCVS) are hosting a FREE online Risk Assessment Training Course, taking place Tuesday 11th August, 1:20pm – 3:30pm, via Zoom.
Participants should login from 1:20pm, as the course will start promptly at 1:30pm.
The course aims to provide guidance, practical exercises and case studies surrounding Risk Assessment in organisations, and will be useful for those third sector organisations and groups looking to re-open their premises, or re-start their activities, after lockdown.
By the end of the session, participants should have a better understanding of how to identify and assess risk, and the difference between risks and hazards, as well as the legal duty of care to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone in an organisation.
The course will focus on risks associated with COVID-19 and moving into Phase 3, and will cover:
- understanding the law
- understanding how to identify hazards and risks
- understanding control measures
- understanding the cost of bad practice, which can be human life
- the importance of good practice and top-down buy in
