Forth Valley Sensory Centre’s Lip-Reading Class with Jill Bradshaw has now returned, taking place via Zoom on Friday mornings, 10:30am – 12pm.
Lip reading can be really useful for people who have lost their hearing through age or illness. Hearing loss can be very isolating and people struggling to manage their condition can easily lose their confidence, wondering if it is just them that has a problem, not going out or not being able to explain to people that they cannot hear properly.
The Lip-Reading Class is currently operating a waiting list, and has taster sessions available for anyone interested in joining.
The Centre is also looking to start a new Tinnitus Support Group. Tinnitus is typically a ringing or whooshing noise in the ear when there are no other sounds; this group will cover hints and tips to manage the condition, and they are currently trying to establish suitable times and dates.
Once confirmed, the first meeting of the new Tinnitus Group will feature a speaker from NHS Audiology.
To join the new Tinnitus Support Group, or the waiting list for the Lip-Reading Class (or to book a taster session), or for any further information, please contact Linsey Stocks by email: linseystocks@forthvalleysensorycentre.org
